Chris W. Darden, Director/Instructor
School Director GRI, CRS, ABR, ePRO, SRES, CHC
Chris has 23 years of Real Estate Sales experience. She also holds several real estate designations to include Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), Internet Real Estate Professional (ePRO), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). Chris is also a Certified Housing Counselor and have conducted several Homeownership Workshops and Credit Repair Seminars. She is a member of the Affordable Housing Group who administers the certification. She has conducted several in-house Broker training sessions. Chris has a passion for teaching.
She has two wonderful adult children who are pursuing a career in different areas of Real Estate Management. Chris is also a Broker-in-Charge of American Dream - Realtors and Property Manager of Darden Properties, LLC. She is very diverse in the Real Estate arena.
As a result of these experiences, she has considerable skills and competence in designing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing educational programs for diverse learners and learning situations.

Chris has a BS Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and an AAS Degree in Business Office Technology.
Chris began her real estate career in February 1996 with Century 21. During her Real Estate Career, she formed a Team under the Century 21 system called the American Dream Team and later branched out to form her own Agency called American Dream-Realtors where she is the Broker-in-Charge and conducts staff training. She conducted Home ownership Workshops for first-time home buyers on a quarterly basis.
Because real estate is a sound investment, she decided to expand her teaching skills and teach consumers how to obtain their real estate license. She received her teaching certification from the North Carolina Real Estate Commission in December, 2014 and began her new endeavor of teaching the real estate courses. She has been recognized and commended by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission as having a 90% - 100% pass rate since she began her real estate education career.
Donna J. Gibbs/Instructor - Trainee
Donna has a MS in Counselor Education and a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations as well as a minor in Psychology. Donna is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has worked with clients for their individual therapy needs for over 10 years. This affords her the ability to understand the whole client and the client's need. In addition, she was a part time instruction at Pitt Community College as well.
Donna began her real estate career in August 2017 with American Dream Realtors. She continues to work with this Team of professionals. She is a graduate of our East Carolina School of Real Estate. Donna specializes as a broker for both sellers and buyers for single family residences and land/lot purchases. She works hard at staying on top of the latest cutting-edge real estate technology. She always strives to present the best, most up-to-date information for her clients. Donna is customer driven and is dedicated to achieving results and providing exceptional service. Prior to realizing her Real Estate career, Donna was an assistant construction project manager for over 20 years. This leads to her extensive knowledge in the building industry. As part of her knowledge base in the Real Estate Profession, she decided to afford others the opportunity to gain knowledge and grow in the profession.
Elisa A. (Nina) Petro/Instructor - Trainee
Nina was Licensed in 2007 after many years working in the legal and paralegal field. Real estate seemed a natural progression and Nina loves every aspect of the real estate profession.
Nina is a sole proprietor and Broker-in-Charge of her agency. She enjoys taking the entire home selling and buyer journey from start to finish with her clients running a “warm referral business”. The biggest compliment someone can pay to a business owner is a referral. A Referral means the client trusts the Broker.
With the knowledge and passion that Nina has for Real Estate, she decided to expand her portfolio into the real estate education area to assist others with becoming Real Estate Brokers.
