​​​East Carolina School of Real Estate conducts the Broker Prelicense Course required to qualify applicants for the license examination to become licensed as a real estate “provisional” broker in North Carolina, the Postlicense Courses needed for a “provisional” broker to remove the “provisional” status from their license, and Continuing Education Courses needed annually for brokers to maintain their license on active status.

School Licensure/Approval: East Carolina School of Real Estate is licensed by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Any complaints concerning the School should be directed in writing to:

The Real Estate School offers Pre and Post-licensing, Continuing Education and Genaral Real Estate Courses. We have already started teaching and enrollment has been brisk. We are offering additional courses in the weeks and months to come.

            ABOUT the DIRECTOR

Chris W. Darden, Director/Instructor
School Director GRI, CRS, ABR, ePRO, SRES, CHC

Chris has 23 years of Real Estate Sales experience. She also holds several real estate designations to include Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), Internet Real Estate Professional (ePRO), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). Chris is also a Certified Housing Counselor and have conducted several Homeownership Workshops and Credit Repair Seminars. She is a member of the Affordable Housing Group who administers the certification. She has conducted several in-house Broker training sessions. Chris has a passion for teaching.

She has two wonderful adult children who are pursuing a career in different areas of Real Estate Management. Chris is also a Broker-in-Charge of American Dream - Realtors and Property Manager of Darden Properties, LLC. She is very diverse in the Real Estate arena.

As a result of these experiences, she has considerable skills and competence in designing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing educational programs for diverse learners and learning situations.

Real Estate Broker In Charge

Chris has a BS Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and an AAS Degree in Business Office Technology.

Chris began her real estate career in February 1996 with Century 21. During her Real Estate Career, she formed a Team under the Century 21 system called the American Dream Team and later branched out to form her own Agency called American Dream-Realtors where she is the Broker-in-Charge and conducts staff training. She conducted Home ownership Workshops for first-time home buyers on a quarterly basis.

Because real estate is a sound investment, she decided to expand her teaching skills and teach consumers how to obtain their real estate license.  She received her teaching certification from the North Carolina Real Estate Commission in December, 2014 and began her new endeavor of teaching the real estate courses. She has been recognized and commended by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission as having a 90% - 100% pass rate since she began her real estate education career.

TLobdell

Theresa Lobdell, Instructor

Theresa is a Commercial Realtor and has been in the real estate business for over 25 years. She started her real estate career in New York City and moved to Cary, NC in 1999; where she is the owner and Broker-in-Charge of a residential and commercial firm. She has extensive knowledge in residtential real estate transaction, but she specializes in commercial sales, leasing, commercial property management and real estate investment analysis.

Theresa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and has completed courses in Real Estate Management, Commercial Real Estate Accounting and Financial Calculations. She also completed a Real Estate Appraisal course and passed the licensure exam to understand fully how to evaluate properties and maximize their return. She recently authored an NCREC approved CE Elective Course. Her education, along with many years of real estate experience has given her a creative, problem solving, and analytic mind. Her stong desire to raise the bar in real estate competence and professionalism is the reason why she decided to be a real estate instructor.

Her style of teaching focuses on practial application and bringing humor to the classroom. She believes that humor relaxes the students and helps them cope with any stress they may be feeling about the content. She strives to get the students excited about learning and enourages them to be their best in whatever they do.

Therese Sove`, Veteran, Instructor

Therese, has been in real estate for over 10 years with a real estate license in NC, NJ, and FL.

Her experience includes Listing and Buyers agent representing first time home buyers, Veterans, investment properties, land, and property management. She has twenty plus years teaching for corporate, military, and in university settings. Her method of teaching is to bring her experience to the classroom by “story telling” to emphasize the lesson taught. She has earned several certifications. 

Therese attended University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) where she earned her Masters of Business Administration. She actively participates in high volume selling.
